Firstly, thank you to the good people who pointed out that one of the calls for pitches in last week’s bulletin was from an organisation of ill repute. I will refrain from calling it a ‘scam’ as many did and have, as I have not dealt with them myself. But apparently the International Association of Professional Writers & Editors (IAPWE) has rubbed many people the wrong way with how they work. In case it needs to be said, these bulletins collect calls for pitches that I see around the web that appear to be genuine, trustworthy, interesting and with decent fees. But I do not investigate the gigs on offer or the people or the organisations in any great depth. So please DYOR before applying.
